Our Mission:

Enabling people with Autism to reach their true potential.

Established in 1994, ISADD WA is one of Perth’s longest running Autism intervention providers committed to evidence-based approaches that evolve as new research findings emerge. We are a not-for-profit organisation with a team of health professionals, key workers, and therapy assistants who work together to provide high-quality, home and centre-based intervention. We are committed to our policy of “Parents and Caregivers as Partners” in our work with children, offering a family-centred collaborative approach, whilst maintaining respect and understanding of each individual within the family’s needs. In our work with adolescent and adult clients, we aim to support and empower clients and caregivers to define personal goals and priorities in their lives, along with building skills through treatment programmes that harness the individuals’ strengths, interests, and unique learning style.

ISADD WA bases its intervention strategies on concepts supported by research, predominantly Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA)  and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. The professionals in our Allied Health Clinical Team also offer a diverse range of evidence-based approaches in their work with older children, adolescents, and adults to suit the individual needs of their clients. ABA  is known to be one of the most effective treatment paradigms in enhancing, establishing, and teaching socially important behaviour and skills.  ISADD WA prides itself on being progressive in the way it has evolved and adapted its approach to applying new, evidenced-based practice in behavioural principles to teach clients new skills and support the development of positive behaviour in a fun, flexible, dynamic and generalised way across a range of environments. The programmes we offer across our service are individually tailored based on the cognitive, language, and developmental profiles of the individual and always consider the context in which the individual lives and their available supports. Goals are designed in collaboration with parents, caregivers, partners, and other key people in the community (dependent on age and stage of life), together with information gathered from testing and formal assessment.

We offer coaching, support, and formal education via training workshops where needed.
